The Hudson Post-Gazette is published weekly on Thursday and concentrates on providing in-depth information of community activities that is unavailable elsewhere. Through its predecessors, the Hudson Post and Hudson Gazette, has been published continuously since 1858, and under the current name since 1919, making it the oldest continuously operating business in Hudson. The newspaper has always maintained a focus on Hudson MI and the surrounding community.

Wes Boyd has been on the job as editor and recently added on the publisher duties for many years and long enjoyed a career in the news room. His first story in the Post-Gazette was forty years ago, and he’s spent twenty-four years working there. A person of varied interests, at one time he was a certified flight instructor and held a commercial pilot rating. The North Country Trail found Wes serving as editor of its hiking publication for a number of years. His “Greatest Trip of a Lifetime” was to the Grand Canyon in 2003. He also puts a lot of attention into “Spearfish Lake Tales.”
Business Manager and Associate Editor
Amanda Boyd is the business manager for the Post-Gazette, and she and her father co-own the newspaper. Although she only recently started working full-time at the paper, she’s been around it since preschool days, when her father Wes brought her to work instead of hiring a babysitter. She’s come a long way in the twenty years since then — she’s a 2001 graduate of Hudson Area High School, and a 2005 graduate of Siena Heights University. She spent over two years since in the Peace Corps in Chengdu, China, teaching English as a second language, and also spent time in Japan, Holland and England. Her experience in living in various places in the world taught her something she hadn’t expected: Hudson is a great place to live!
